Yesterday I was saddened by the news that Jazz Broadcaster Ivan Halloran has passed away. He was one of the my earliest supporters. He frequently contributed to Jazz&Jazz and to my Facebook Jazzers Group. I so much appreciated his friendship and encouragement.
His daughter Maria Millward posted: “Rest In Peace Dad. You have had a long life surrounded by much love and leave a beautiful family legacy behind. We know you have gone home peacefully to Nan and Pop. Thank you to all our family and friends who have kept him in their thoughts and prayers. The music he so loved will always be with us to keep his memory alive. Wherever you are, whenever you can, keep enjoying Jazz, Ivan. Your smile will never fade.”

Back in October, 2017, Ivan messaged me from New South Wales, Australia: “I follow you closely Peter, and would be lost without our contact.”
This meant so much to me and I always appreciated Ivan’s support and encouragement for my endeavours for jazz.

Jazz&Jazz YouTubes Part 6 Is Especially Dedicated To Ivan Halloran
Early on, Ivan wrote to me: “My only interest is the promotion of Trad to younger and younger audiences in the hope that the genre can grow stronger, as we older jazzoes die off.”
My promise to Ivan: Promoting Jazz continues to be my primary aim here on
Jazz&Jazz and on my Jazzers Group.
