Yesterday, my longstanding jazz friend Ivan Hallaron encouraged me with this message
from New South Wales, Australia: “I follow you closely Peter, and would be lost
without our contact.”
I first featured Ivan on Jazz&Jazz back in November, 2012, when his was still presenting his three hour jazz feature, “Mostly Jazz”, every Friday, along with his four hour show, “Nostalgia”,
on Valley Radio in Parkes, NSW.
Ivan, I see that the brilliant young jazz musician, Adrian Cox, is one of our many mutual friends, so I’m dedicating my “Jazz&Jazz YouTubes Part 6”, featuring Adrian with his Quartet in The Crypt, St Martins in the Field, London, to you. I spoke to Adrian a month ago when he starred with his group “Profoundly Blue” at The Bedford Jazz Festival, just before he set off with his band on a tour in
South America. I’ll be sure to share this feature with him.
And especially for your enjoyment, Ivan, sent with my very best wishes, the earlier posts in the Featuring Jazz&Jazz YouTubes Series:
Part 1: “Davenport Blues” with Alan Gresty and Tony Pitt.
Part 2: Denise Gordon and Roy Williams “Sugar”!
Part 3: Barry Palser Presents “That Dada Strain”
Part 4: Tuba Skinny “New Orleans Bump”
Part 5: Taimane Gardner Captivates Fest Jazz Fans!
