Desperately Needed – Support for Jazz&Jazz!

There has been a let down in my efforts to support jazz. Once I have recovered from the set back I’ll bite the bullet and fully address the issues in another post!

Followers of Jazz&Jazz and Jazz&Jazz YouTubes will be aware that I have been seeking to fund my Campaign for Jazz by monetising my Jazz & Jazz YouTubes.

Under new eligibility requirements for Google Ads, Google state:
“Your YouTube channel, Jazz & Jazz, is no longer eligible for monetization because it doesn’t meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. As a result, your channel will lose access to all monetization tools and features associated with the YouTube Partner Program on February 20, 2018, unless you surpass this threshold in the next 30 days. Accordingly, this email serves as 30 days notice that your YouTube Partner Program terms are terminated. (Dated 17th February – Some Partner Program!)

Jazz&Jazz YouTubes

I have been featuring Jazz&Jazz YouTubes throughout the website for some time. To date I have posted some 750 YouTubes and have close to 650 YouTube subscribers. I also have a list of MP4s yet to be converted as YouTubes. I have been including Google Advertising on my YouTubes to raise funds and help finance my Campaign for Jazz. Meagre pickings though! Income from Google ads is dependant on the length of time the ads are viewed – not the YouTubes.  The new threshold is “4,000 hours of watch time (of the ads) over the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers.” I simply cannot envisage putting my jazz friends through that ordeal.

So I am abandoning Google Ads on my YouTubes but not the YouTubes themselves. In any case the ads take time to set up on each YouTube – time which I can better spend focusing on my specific purpose of  “Celebrating the Joy of Jazz”.

Meantime I will work on a new Jazz&Jazz Post addressing the issues and the need to raise funds to support and further my campaign for “Celebrating the Joy of Jazz”.

So please watch this space.
