… with Jesper Capion Larsen’s magical rendition of George Lewis’s

Burgundy Street Blues

One of my all time favourites and third time lucky for capturing Jesper’s wonderful rendition, as on the two previous occasions – at The Blue Posts in Soho and Hemsby Autumn Jazz Parade – fans prevented me filming from the best angle. In fact in The Blue Posts the fans were packed in so tightly that I found myself almost face to face with Jesper – so much so that far from filming him I could have played the notes on his clarinet!

So here is my YouTube taken at Olney Jazz Club on Tuesday, 6th October.

New Orleans Jazz is safe in Jesper hands!

  2. Peter Butler says:

Hi Paul, It was so worthwhile awaiting this third opportunity to capture Jesper for YouTube. He easily equals the greats.

    Cheers

  3. Paul Goddard says:

    Hi Peter,
A really good video, for which many thanks.
What it cannot do, of course, is capture that tingling feeling in your spine that you get when hearing something really exceptional live.
It would be most unfair on the rest of an excellent revivalist band to say that was “the” high point of the evening, but it was certainly “a” high point, and I am not surprised you have featured it.
Bring the band back soon, Doc!
