Ramsgate Seaside Shuffle is

The
Summer Fun Festival!

Take Red Hot & Blue’s performance on a blazing July Saturday afternoon – ready to strip off at the outset!  And just as I was about to film them in their smart white jackets. Witness for yourselves the results on this YouTube. I simply couldn’t get my lens camera up to par in time – hence my objections and the shaky start. Great fun and despite the theatricals, great music!

Only at Ramsgate Seaside Shuffle!

But later they condescended to my request to film them fully clad – yet again catching me on the hop so that I missed the opening bars of “The Postman’s Lament” – and my comment that sitting right next to me was, not Postman Pat, but Postman Pete – an avid Ramsgate Seaside Shuffle fan.

Where else but at Ramsgate Seaside Shuffle!

    Dear Peter,

I was sorry to hear that ‘ someone’ had removed not only my constructive thoughts about Seaside Shuffle, but yours also in which you made some valid points. There is little point in the punters making comments – good or bad, when those who object to what has been written remove it. Specially when they can answer them on here?

As I said, they were constructive comments, and meant in no way to undermine the staunch efforts of the organisers with little finance, for which they get little reward for their efforts. Hence why I made a generous gesture to them of which you are aware.

Just one further comments if I may; the vast majority of those you go to Jazz Festivals are mostly Oap’s on limited finances. I am no different, so it’s fair to say that the vast majority of those visiting the festivals throughout the country tend to be very selective, and of course as it is in life, want best value for money. Those that do not I am afraid will struggle to survive as the number of Jazz supporters dwindle year on year – sadly.

You are of course referring to the comments on the Facebook Ramsgate Seaside Shuffle page, Sid. As for comments on this site, I have total control, as I do also on my Facebook Jazzers Group.

If you scan through this post you’ll see I feature quite a few of our young(er) bands: https://www.jazzandjazz.com/?p=10265

Plus festivals on the Continent such as Fest Jazz feature more of the than we do in the UK.

    Cheers

    Peter
