On tour from France, I was delighted to film the Hippocampus Jass Gang at The Bay Jazz Club, Enfield, back in June, 2016.

Hi Norman – really good to hear from you. As ever my FB pages present a deal more than my J&J site posts. Still striving to find a way to steer fans here rather than via almighty FB!!! But all my many YouTubes are at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbyqlX9cd5D7h2FpXsdS7BQ?guided_help_flow=1

I need an online marketing assistant!

  3. Norman says:

Can’t help with the assist job I’m afraid. At 85 now I’m concentrating on working with bass player Jim Swinnerton on promoting to get some live music on again at his Garstang JC. We had a gig lined up for end of October with The Washboard Resonators ( you might like to check them out and feature a Northern duo for a change ) but Boris’s latest rulings have put paid to that ! But you know me Peter, I don’t give in – I’m a grinder ! Norm888

Best we keep in touch regularly, Norman. Then you can “release” to me features you might prefer be posted primarily here on Jazz&Jazz rather than on Social Media. I’m still struggling to find time and ways and means to establish Jazz&Jazz and my YouTubes on an equal footing with the Social Media giants – high hopes indeed. Gets to be a tedious no win project. Plus I’m chasing you up at 78 in November – running out of time! And finances! Ginny is on my back for overdoing it (but perhaps that’s because she wants more of my time). Are these the Washboard Resonators: http://thewashboardresonators.com

Yep. You got ’em. I hope you have looked at their videos. I haven’t seen them live yet, but all reports are good and they are even more entertaining on stage. We have to be aware that putting on live jazz events any time soon will be a financial risk. As audiences will be smaller, if social distancing still a ruling, hence lower door takings. Therefore a good duo will be a significantly cheaper option than a six piece. That’s the only way I can see live jazz working for the foreseeable future. Norm888

Sadly so, Norman. I’ll continue to do all I can to help keep things going via this site and my Social Media contacts. Our grandson Archie has just gone to Manchester for his first year in university. Already he is in lock down. So I’ve sent him this site and all my other jazz stuff to browse through with his new found mates! Might help fill the time.
