La Section Rythmique stars three of the best known musicians in French jazz: David Blenkhorn (Guitar), Sebastien Girardot (double bass) and Guillaume Nouaux (drums). Their repertoire ranges from New Orleans to Creole, Funk and Blues.
It was my privilege to film them at Fest Jazz 2016 playing to a marquee teeming with fans.

Somehow Peter I didn’t see La Section Rythmique at FestJazz ! Now that is a shame because David Blenkhorn and Sabastien Girardot both played for me about five years ago when I was brave enough to book Australian Violinist ‘ George Washingmachine ‘. The evening was actually a success, but I think I got the bums on seats because everyone was curious just to witness a guy with a weird name like that ! I brought along my didgeridoo, thinking ‘he’s an Aussie, he can show me how to blow it properly’ Wrong ! He couldn’t ! Norm888
Trouble for Ginny and me was we dashed between the five venues endeavouring to film as many bands as possible and so didn’t have time to see one through from beginning to end except on the opening night. Even then we missed filming a couple of bands but these will be included in my forthcoming final feature of the festival in which I will include the Fest Jazz Master YouTube compilation.
